BRIEF INTRODUCTION
"Run Forrest, Run!" the word that always linger on his mind, young Forrest Gump is a sickly boy. He has braces on his legs making him easy targets for bullies. Young Jenny is his only friend who believes in him. Their sweet and innocent childhood friendship will eventually bring them to a relationship where only heaven can separate.

Forrest Gump is a movie based on a 1986 novel with the same title by Winston Groom and direction of veteran and highly respected film maker, Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future Trilogy, Cast Away). Forrest Gump, played by multi Academy award winner actor and director Tom Hanks (Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan), is an athlete, a war veteran, a celebrity, a loving son to a mother, a loving husband to a wife and a loving father to a son. Despite his sickly condition and very low intelligence, Forrest easily enjoys life and be contented on what he has. But everything just came in to his life without forcing any issue. I can say that he is a classic example of what we call: "just do what is right to do and God will do the rest for you".

PLOT
Forrest is waiting at a bus stop in Georgia, when he start telling his life story to his seatmate. Forrest started as a little sickly boy who was denied to enter grade school due to his very low IQ. But Mrs. Gump (Sally Field) insisted that his boy is normal and be considered and treated like the other kids in school. Mrs. Gump did 'everything' to the principal just to accept the enrollment of his little Forrest.Because of his leg braces, Forrest is a subject to bullies but his new friend young Jenny is always there to protect him. But when Forrest was threatened seriously Jenny made a statement that Forrest never forget: "Run Forrest, Run!" and he ran, as fast as he could, braking all those leg braces. And starting that day Forrest found a new weapon to defeat his bullies, RUNNING.

Forrest now a senior student at the University of Alabama, was discover by Coach Paul Bryant when he accidentally ran off the football field with an explosive speed, thus earning his scholarship to play college football and soon became an All American.

He joined the US Army after graduating college and met at the boot camp his new friend in the name of Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue (Mykelti Williamson), who introduced shrimping business to Forrest. They talk a lot about shrimp all the time. After boot camp, both were assigned in Vietnam under the command of Lt Dan Taylor (Gary Sinise).

Many events, good and bad happened to Forrest's life during and after the war. He became an athlete, businessman, product endorser, an instant celebrity and eventually a millionaire. But still he does not care at all, the money, the fame, the attention- it's nothing for Forrest. All he wanted to do is to meet the kindest woman in the world next to his mother, JENNY CURRAN (Robin Wright Penn).

MY REACTION
Positive:
I saw this movie so many times but I kept on crying every time I watch the film, the story was excellent. Writer Winston Groom did a very wonderful job in this novel. Tom Hanks portrayed Forrest in a very superb performance, you can see the ignorance on his eyes, the pain he has, the happiness in his face. The special effects used that time are truly excellent when Forrest met JFK and Pres. Johnson. Director Robert Zemeckis professionally extracted from the actors what is really needed to be shown and seen by the audience, very nice and unique approach.

What I really like about the film is that Forrest was never been corrupted by his greed, by his anger. Maybe due to his low IQ, he just let the day pass, do what he is told to do so. Doing the right thing everyday. And everything goes on his way.

Negative:
I have not seen any, maybe there might be any but I don't care, I love the movie and the story excellent, I have no time to look for some disadvantages.

OVER-ALL RATING:
10 out of 10 stars - Excellent

RECOMMENDATION
A must see for everybody, especially to people who sometimes losing his self esteem, just watch this movie. The story might inspire you to live you life and enjoy everything that God has given us.
